Older:

  1. (Ref#610) When a new profile is created the date is defaulted to current date. If the profile was for the current date but the field not touched then the date
would not be saved. The date is now saved correctly.
Note that if an existing profile has a date that is invalid or cannot be decoded when the file is opened then it will be set to 1900-01-01 to indicate an unknown date.
  2. Flag (Lemons) indicators which  flag the unstable snow layers. Bases on research by Ian McCammon, Jürg Schweizer, and Bruce Jamieson. Press F10 key to toggle on/off. Click for Details New Installer Inno 5.1.5. Includes new CAA Standard XML file export option for profiles
  3. You may select either the Snowpro XML format or use the new (Provisional) Canadian Avalanche XML format on the Preferences Export tab. These formats can be read directly by many database programs such as Oracle and MSSQL and as well by Excel R11 and higher. This provides an easy format to import the profile data into your own applications. The older original Snowpro XML format is available by setting option in preferences. Please note that the CAA Format is a work in progress and subject to change Snowpro will be updated as needed to conform to the CAA XML Standard.

  7. (Ref#957) Toolbox Snow Temp colour not correct on start, Fixed.

Older:

  1. (Ref#498) There was a problem where if a snow profile was saved with the  environment date set to one value and the profile opened under a different environment date that the date might not be correctly interpreted. Modified to include the date format used in the profile file.
  2. (Ref#604) The right mouse button popup menu option "Hide all shear layers" was not working.

  8. Widened a few screens and fields to allow translated text to be better displayed. Under the new Windows XP operating system, the Snow and Shear Layer  height/depth columns were shifted to left of screen so that they were hidden. This is obsolete.Windspeed would not retain "Calm" setting.
  9. This is actually typo in the wndspd.txt file where first entry had an extra space on it. To fix without reinstalling, remove end space in wndspd.txt file using notepad editor. Date formats d-MMM-yyyy e.g. 3-AUG-2001 were not being correctly recognized and would default to current date when    open existing file using that format.Line from top snow temperature point to the air temperature point was not being printed/exported correctly sometimes when both temperatures were the same value.Single language translation file now split into two files.
  10. The original single translation file due to reaching maximum size limit of 64k bytes is now divided into 2 files. These are language.slt and language.sl2. For example for icelandic the actual names would be islenska.slt and islenska.sl2. Note in the User Manual that any reference to the language.slt file should also include the language.sl2 files. The empty language template trans.slt now additionally includes trans.sl2. If you intend to create a translation file set then copy both the trans.slt and trans.sl2 files to the name selected. For example to create a french language set you would:
    a) Copy trans.slt to francais.slt
    b) Copy trans.sl2 to francais.sl2
    c) Edit both francais.slt and francais.sl2 files adding the french language translation to the file
    d) Move the francais.slt and francais.sl2 files to the Snowpro installation directory (c:\program files\gasman\snowpro)
    e) Select the menu options Translation, Select
    f) Type francais in the Add entry field and click Add button
    g) Click the Enable Translation Checkbox
    h) Exit the Snowpro Software
    i) Restart the Snowpro software and the french language labels will be displayed
    j) Repeat for other languages
